Lansdowne Environmental Events – April 8, 2011
Hello Lansdownians,
Spring is busting out all over and there are plenty of environmental events coming up, here in Lansdowne and a bit beyond. You’ll want to know about these!
Lansdowne Energy Workshop – Thursday, April 14th
Come to the 20th Century Club at 7:00 pm to hear from PECO about your energy choices and learn energy saving tips, and The Energy Coordinating Agency will explain EnergyWorks! This is a gov’t funded program that provides financial rebates to homeowners to have professional home energy audits conducted, as well as technical assistance, including very low cost loans to do the work. If you think your home might be losing energy and driving your heating and cooling costs up, this is a great way to resolve the issues.
Keep Lansdowne Beautiful Day – Saturday, April 16th
Come on out to Borough Green (corner of Lansdowne Ave & Baltimore Pike) at 9:30 am and join your neighbors and friends to clean up the trash throughout the downtown area. The Borough supplies everything you’ll need. But we need you!! The Litter Bug will be there to amuse the kids, and our Mayor will be giving out awards. So come on out and join us!
Also on Saturday April 16th we will be hosting a Paper Shredding event. Bring your old documents and records to the Highland Ave. Parking Lot between 11am and 2pm and they will be shredded and the paper recycled.
Delco Environmental Fair – Saturday, April 9th
Check out this article in the Daily Times about the April 9th Environmental Fair in Swarthmore. All are welcome, and it’s free. I’ve also attached a flyer about it.
Cobbs Creek 5K Run/Walk – Saturday, April 23rd
Check out the info on the attached flyer. The event will support the revitalization of Cobbs Creek Park.
P.S: Next Yard Waste Wednesday is April 13th
Enjoy the Spring! And I hope to see you at some of these events.
