Hurricane Irene
Hello Lansdownians,
Everyone is talking about Irene, so I thought I’d pass along some info I’ve received.
I just got an email from Delaware County (see below) – please read it over. I also understand from Mayor Young that Lansdowne’s Police and Fire Departments are taking a look around the borough and trying to be proactive about potential problems. All is being considered in the borough.
The next Yard Waste Wednesday isn’t until September 14th, so please gather and hold onto any fallen limbs and branches that may get blown around until then.

Irene is slated to make closest approach Sunday morning however high winds will begin 12 hours before that with as much as 10 inches of rain over 24 hrs. Rpt trees blocking hiway to 911. Power outages and lines down to PECO at 800-494-4000. Do not call 911 for info; only emergencies. Plan on power outages by having flashlights ready. Use candles with care. Dry ice is available only thru private suppliers.
