Invitation For Bids For The Purchase Of Nineteen (19) Decorative Street Lamposts

Lansdowne Borough (the “Borough”) is selling nineteen (19) decorative street lampposts (the “property”) which were removed from the Borough’s Gladstone Manor neighborhood as part of a street lighting upgrade project. The decorative lampposts are believed to be constructed of cast iron and have a verdigris finish, but the Borough can make no assurances as to construction materials. The decorative lampposts will be available for public inspection on March 1st 2012, 2012 from 10 AM until 12 PM. In addition, interested parties may contact the Borough Facilities Manager at 610-623-7300 x 218 to arrange for inspection of the property. The Borough will receive sealed bids marked “Purchase of Decorative Street Lampposts,” until April 2nd , 2012, at 4:30 PM, prevailing time, at the Lansdowne Municipal Building, 12 E. Baltimore Avenue, Lansdowne, PA 19050 at which time said sealed bids will be publicly opened and read.

The Borough will only consider bids for the entire lot of the property, not for individual street lampposts.

The Borough shall sell the property to the highest responsible bidder. The Borough Council reserves the right to reject all bids. The Borough Council also reserves the right to waive any informalities during the evaluation of the bids. The successful bidder must purchase the property by certified or cashier’s check no later than twenty (20) days following the approval of the sale by Borough Council. The purchase and sale of the property will be accomplished by a bill of sale to be executed by the Borough. The successful bidder will be responsible for moving the property from the Borough at the successful bidder’s sole expense. The successful bidder must complete the removal of such property from the Borough’s premises no later than thirty (30) days following the approval of the sale by Borough Council.
